Description :
Don't you hate it when you try to show how much content is on Wikipedia, but then there's no internet available, or it is so unreliable that people can't use it meaningfully? Well, good news, there is Kiwix: an offline browser that allows people to browse Wikipedia articles (or selections thereof) without internet access. This works already with Wikimed, the medical encyclopedia that's available in 11 languages, with Arabic being the second most-popular after English. There will also soon be Makumbusho, a customizable app presenting Museums with articles related to their collections, or Wikifundi, an app to edit Wikipedia offline (and then re-import content online). We will have 30 minutes to walk you through a catalogue of awesome, and then some to address questions. |
