Title: Open Knowledge Maps and Wikidata: building interactive 2D bibliographic maps from SPARQL queries
editAbstract:
editAn introduction to Open Knowledge Maps to create interactive knowledge maps to help explore a topic area from keyword search. Open Knowledge maps is an in browser tool to build interactive 2D maps of a knowledge area. Its based upon the open source 'headstart' backend which collects a list of papers and uses natural language processing to cluster them by topic and build a map. Currently this is done by querying sources of papers like PubMed, and BASE but there will also be a demonstration of experimental work to showcase building the map not from the output of a keyword search but instead from Wikidata SPARQL queries using bibliographic metadata that is available in Wikidata.
