WikiGLAM Awareness for Librarians in Kwara State

It is a project to create awareness on the various Wikimedia products/ projects that librarians in Kwara State can adopt to promote digital information literacy, open knowledge, and free access to information among Library users in Kwara State.

Event details

Location: Physical socially distanced event in Ilorin at the Mustapha Akanbi Library and Resource Centre, with online follow-up.

Date:10th & 11th September 2021.

1. Create awareness for WikiGLAM on Social media.

2. Teach participants how to access and create a Wikipedia account.

3. Teach Participants the general editing rules of Wikipedia.

4. Create and or improve 100 articles on Wikipedia and Wikidata.

5. Expose librarians in Ilorin to the relevance and impacts of WikiGLAM projects on libraries.
