How to register
All you have to do join this contest is to add your username below with a link to your home language user page; then, when you create or improve pages in any languages, come back here and add a link to each article page under your name, with the score you claim. Also, take a look at our scoring system below. Please add the hashtag #WikiGapYoruba in your edit summary, to make it easy for us to find your contributions.
Rules and Regulation
Editors are free to create and edit any article as long as it relates to Yorubai women. However, the following rules and regulations need to be kept in mind.
- Only participants registered in Wikimedia projects are allowed to participate in the Challenge.
- Each participant takes part in the Competition with only one account which must be registered on the WikiGap Yoruba Online Challenge participant page and Dashboard.
- A new article must be written or an existing one edited in Yoruba Wikipedia between 15 May 2022 and 30 May 2022 inclusive.
- Each new created article must have at least 150 words long.
- Contest entries must not contain copyright infringement. Participants may be disqualified for massive copyright violations.
- The jury may disqualify a participant for violating the principle of "fair play", for not adding articles to the list within a reasonable time, for bulk uploading pre-prepared articles at any stage, as well as for any actions that hinder fair competition or misleads other participants.
- When summing up the results, the quality and quantity of works created by the participant of the Challenge are taken into account. Quantity means the volume and quality a reasonable degree of illustration, completeness, the degree of supporting materials with links to authoritative sources and design.
- The jury can mark the volume and quality (style of presentation, design, illustration, etc.) of the article with one or two additional points.
- The organisers reserve the right to make any amendments or additions to these rules and regulations are any time.
Scoring System
Please calculate your own points using the following system. All points are cumulative.
- +0.5 point for every new category added to an article (new or existing).
- +0.5 point for every new WikiProject added to an article's talk page (new or existing).
- +0.5 point for each image added to an article (new or existing) (including your own photos).
- +1 point for each +1,000 bytes of added content to an article
- +1 point for each new source/Reference you add to an existing Wikipedia article
- +5 points for each new article created in either language
- +25 points for a Good Article in either language.
- +50 points for a Featured Article in either language.
Examples
If you start a new article in either language you get 5 points
If you add, 2,500 bytes of content to a new or existing article, you get 2 points
If you add a new image to an article, you get 0.5 point
If you add 3 new categories you get 1.5 points
If you add 3 WikiProjects, you get 1.5 points
