This is a proposal for the Wikimedia Foundation to create a database of Wikimedia citation records; and associated improvements to cross-wiki monitoring and editing.These two pillars would empower community-managed workflows and tools to:

  • Make citations easier for the editor,
  • more useful for the reader,
  • and more efficient for our architecture.

WikiSound Audio Speaks Visual Meet-up

 

26-28 October: the WikiCite 2020 Virtual Conference is organised to coincide with the celebrations of Wikidata's 8th Birthday. As part of this year’s online conference, there are a series of sessions looking in depth at the WikiCite facets of Wikidata relating to citations, publications, authors, institutions, archives and related topics. Held across many languages, and many timezones.


Possess an audio file (know Copy Right Violation). Convert Audio Files to suitable free extensions formats, like .ogg Register with Wikimedia Commons (Have an account). Explore into Commons.wikimedia.org Click on upload (to upload Wizard). Follow guidelines from Upload Wizard. The audio files will be successful uploaded.


Use "Studio or Recording tools" to obtain a sound as Own-Work.
Use "Application Softwareso"  or recording studio".convert those audio files to free license Wikimedia acceptable formats e.g (.ogg)
Rename your files to correspond to the sound when listening to the audio.
Click on “Commons.wikimedia.org” to upload the audio to “Free-license” category.

Click on Upload by your left hand-side or infront of your screen. It will directly take you to Upload wizard.

Follow the instructions on the “Upload Wizardording”  instructions panels.
Once you have followe the above instructions, you are done.

  • Write down your PLANS on how to engage yourself on the activities of AUDIO FILES, the Co-organising team will look into it critically to make the impactful plans works effectively.
  • The co-organising team wants PARTICIPANTS to join the course, in such away that the campaign will have LOCAL LANGUAGE ORGANISERS, moreover, we will have ambassador and User Group representatives from different languages and regions.
  • The campaign will bring new faces to the WORLD of Wikimedia on contributing with Audio files as well as new development to achieve it's goals.
