Wiki Explores North 24 Parganas - Phase I

Wiki Explores North 24 Parganas - Phase I is a three day event to document some areas of district of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India. The objective of this event is to do photo-documentation of the various heritage structures in the said area most of which have less or no presence in Wikimedia commons.

Goal

1. Photograph heritage sites along with important places near them in and around Panihati, Khardaha, Barrackpore, Ichhapur, Shyamnagar, Naihati, Halisahar, Gobardanga, Gopalnagar, Bongaon, Dumdum, Barasat, Baranagar in North 24 Parganas district.

2. Create / Update articles about the heritage structures in Bengali and English Wikipedia
3. Create / Update items in Wikidata

Itinerary

• 18-01-2023(Wednesday) - Depart from Kolkata by a Hired Car and photo document heritage structures of Panihati, Khardaha, Barrackpore, Ichapur
• 19-01-2023(Thursday) - Depart from Kolkata by local train and photo document heritage structures of Shyamnagar, Naihati and Halisahar in friend's bike
• 20-01-2023(Friday) - Depart from Kolkata by local train and photo document heritage structures of Gobardanga in local trains

Extra Days

• 04-02-2023 (Saturday) Depart by local bus from home and reach Baranagar. Then Walk the area by foot to cover local heritage structures.
• 12-02-2023 (Sunday) Depart by Ranaghat local to Ranaghat. Travel areas near Bangaon in friend's bike to cover the heritage spots.
