. This report covers the period from May 1st 2021 to April 30 2022.

Introduction

During the year 2021 and 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic experienced a fall which allowed the easing of the restrictive measures. This improvement allows more activity within the community: Wikipedia editing, contribution to Commons, Wikidat, LinguaLibre, Wikifon projects and many others.

Community growth & perspectives

Despite the global Covid pandemic, the community keeps active doing projects and recruiting new members. We hope, to diversify the community by recruiting more women and having them take on more responsibilities in the community. To make our work visible and increase our notoriety, we launch our own website to share with the community our activities and projects and to create more awareness.

Projects

Projet Communes Sans Images: this project that allows to better illustrate the localities of Benin to make them more visible on Wikicommons, Wikipedia and its other sister projects.
2000WikiBjChallenge A campaign that reached the 2000 symbolic articles on the portal of Benin before December 31, 2021.

Partnerships

We consolidated our existing partnerships and build new ones. We work with organization in Benin in outside to build a better free knowledge ecosystem in Bénin and to advance our wiki projects. Below a list of some of those organizations:

Conseil des Activités Educatives du BENIN (CAEB): a training, education and development education NGO that provides scholarships to deserving students to give them a chance to grow.
LABIS Porto Novo: Center for Innovation, Capacity Building and Youth Action on Employability and Civic Engagement
L'envol: A coworking space, a support structure for entrepreneurship and support for social and solidarity economy structures.
Internet Society Chapitre du Bénin : Which works to ensure an Open, Secure and Accessible Internet to all in Benin and especially with Women & Internet. Their objectives is to promote women and their involvement in the Internet Ecosystem of Benin.
