Goals

We think we have achieved our goals. We were able to organize a hybrid participation format where some members of the community met in person in Istanbul and others were able to join through the online platform and everyone was able to participate in the discussions. Some community members were the first to participate in such a local meeting. At the meeting itself, we were able to talk about the topics of Wikimania, as well as the problems of local communities and ways to solve these problems.

Outcome

1. For the first time we could hire a translator from Turkish into Russian.
2. Up to 20 members from the community attended the meeting. More than half participated online.
3. Participants are from more than 6 language community.
4. 1 post-Wikimania meetup.
5. More than 6 participants received hardware support.

• What worked well?

We organized a hybrid meeting format for the first time and everything went well, which gave us the experience to organize such meetings in the future.

• What did not work so well?

We realized that we needed a more expensive subscription to the Zoom platform with translation support, this time Uskudar University helped us, but in the future we will count on this in our budget so as not to depend on other organizations.

• What would you do differently next time?

We think we will more accurately calculate all the missing nuances this time.
