Abstract:
Wikimedia Georgia has been actively cooperating with the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia for two years to integrate library materials into Wikimedia projects. This collaboration aims to digitize and integrate library materials, particularly enhancing the content of projects like Wikipedia and Wikidata by adding well-sourced, verified information. By doing so, this partnership not only expands the quantity of content available but also ensures that the information is reliable, accurate, and easily accessible to users. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen the representation of Georgian culture, history, and knowledge on Wikimedia projects while promoting the use of trustworthy resources. Wikimedia Georgia contributes to the global open knowledge movement through this collaboration, fostering education and cultural preservation.
Wikimedia Georgia also actively conducts training and workshops for library staff and develops their skills in working on Wikimedia projects.
