  • To generate debate on free culture in cultural environments, a concept which does not exist in Argentina.

Digitizing project Cultural institutions, Wikimedians, Volunteers This activity belongs to our strategic approaches: Digitalization, liberation and creating content - Construction of the local culture We are presently working with 4 cultural institutions. The main objective of the project is to favor the release of content by those organizations which have been consistently working with us, providing them with the training and tools necessary for the correct release and upload of content.

The strategic objective is the release of quality material focused on our goal to build Argentina’s memory through the preservation of its cultural and historical heritage.
In this regard, the objectives of the program are defined below:

  • To improve and increase the content of Wikimedia Commons concerning the history and cultural patrimony of Argentina, promoting the increase of the local patrimony available under public domain or free license.
  • To improve the content of Wikipedia and other projects by positioning and making use of the released material.
  • To involve cultural and educational institutions in the construction of historical memory through the materials released for free use.
  • To favor the release of material that highlights local historical patrimony through new projects such as Wikisource.
