Wikimedia Australia/Activities/Editors Challenge
An Editors Challenge is a friendly competition/contest for creating and improving Wikimedia content.
How it might work:
- Challenge Topics are developed
- A small group of people organise the selection and announcement of topics, and evaluate the submissions at the end
- A Challenge runs for one week, and they are held once every four-to-eight weeks
- Entrants should sign their intention before the start of the Challenge, and at the end, submit diffs/indicate which article(s) they worked on for the Challenge
- Winner(s) are sent a small prize by WMAU (if they want!) (e.g.: t-shirt, book, voucher, sticker prize,
free sock admin account)

- Improving Wikipedia articles on Australia's various electoral systems
- Improving Wikipedia articles on Australian political parties and historically important elections
- Write articles on news in Australian politics for Wikinews (can you get an interview? esp. see n:Portal:Australia/Federal politics project)
- Finding/making free/creating freely licensed media of politicians and political artefacts on Wikimedia Commons
- Working on Wikibooks Australian History or Australian Government, or starting a new book
- Place historically significant public domain political documents on Wikisource (check out s:Category:Australia)
- Starting a module on Wikiversity:
- Creating a comprehensive set of Australian political terms on Wiktionary
- Expanding, arranging and sourcing some memorable zingers on Wikiquote (q:Category:Australians)
In all cases... remember to cite your sources!
