Wiki Loves Monuments Pakistan winners announced

editThe 2014 Wiki Loves Monuments competition received more than 8,800 people submitting over 315,000 photos from 41 countries across the globe. Pakistan was one of the first time participants, which fortunately proved to be a huge success! There were hundreds of participants and thousands of submissions from the country, with an emphasis on historic mosques and tombs.
In all, more than 700 participants from all over Pakistan submitted over 12,000 photographs, making it the country with the eighth highest photos in total. Pakistani’s contributed a large number of impressive photographs that depict the distinctive array of national monuments in the country, highlighting the architectural and natural beauty of Pakistan.
Deciding on the top ten finalists from a diverse pool of monument photographs to send to the international competition was no easy task for the jury. From the magnificent Lahore Fort, to the impressive Faisal Mosque and glorious Noor Mahal, the top ten finalists captured some of the country’s most stunning architecture and diverse monuments.
