Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia/Wiki Loves Earth in Malaysia
Wiki Loves Earth in Malaysia (#WLEMY) is a national photographic competition to promote natural heritage sites in Malaysia through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons). Every Malaysian can participate. There are a lot of natural heritage sited in Malaysia. The goal of Wiki Loves Earth is to encourage people to take pictures of those natural sites, and to put them under a free licence so that others may access them through the Internet. To achieve that, a national contest will take place in June anually. This page introduces the Malaysia part of this competition.
In June, you may upload as many picture as you want of identified natural monuments / natural parks / protected areas that you have visited in Malaysia. Pictures don't have to be taken in June, but must be uploaded that month to be considered. At the end of the month, the contest jury will begin evaluating the photographs and will choose the best 10 pictures of the natural site in Malaysia, and ultimately in the world.
The main goal of the contest is to promote natural heritage sites in Malaysia through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons).
