Wikipedia & Sindhi Wikipedia Awareness Workshop & Meetup
editWikipedia & Sindhi Wikipedia Awareness Workshop & Meetup was held in May 24, 2017 on Wednesday at Mumtaz Mirza Studio (Auditorium), Near MPA Hostel, Saddar Karachi. It was first ever Workshop about Wikipedia in Pakistan, five Wikipedians and 15 other people participated in the workshop, whereas five Wikipedians among them 1 was Urdu Wikipedian and four other were Sindhi Wikipedians, they discussed to launch such workshops soon in universities of Pakistan, and bring more Pakistanis to Wikipedia. 2016
editIn September 2016, we organised world’s largest photography competition”Wiki Loves Monuments” in Pakistan for the third time. Globally, the 2016 version of the contest saw more than 10,500 contestants in 43 countries across the globe, who submitted more than 265,000 photographs throughout the month of September. From Pakistan, around 370 contestants from across the country submitted over 11,000 photographs, making it the country with the sixth largest in the number of submissions and participants.
In May 2016, we organised “Wiki Loves Earth Pakistan” photography competition in Pakistan for the second time. The global 2016 edition has seen more than 7,000 contestants participating from 26 countries, with over 75,000 photo submissions. From Pakistan, over 1,200 contestants chipped in from across the country to submit more than 8,000 photographs; making it the country with the third largest number of submissions and first largest in the number of participants.

editIn September 2015, we organised world’s largest photography competition”Wiki Loves Monuments” in Pakistan for the second time. Globally, the 2015 version of the contest saw more than 6,200 contestants in 33 countries across the globe, who submitted more than 220,000 photographs throughout the month of September. From Pakistan, around 325 contestants from across the country submitted over 2,200 photographs, making it the country with the sixth largest in the number of participants.

The global 2015 edition has seen more than 8,500 contestants participating from 26 countries, with over 100,000 photo submissions. From Pakistan, over 1,500 contestants chipped in from across the country to submit more than 11,000 photographs; making it the country with the fourth largest number of submissions and second largest in the number of participants.

editIn September 2014, we brought world’s largest photography competition, Wiki Loves Monuments, to Pakistan. Globally, the 2014 version of the contest saw more than 8,750 contestants in 41 countries across the globe, who submitted more than 308,000 photographs throughout the month of September. From Pakistan, more than 700 contestants from across the country submitted over 12,000 photographs, making it the country with the eight largest number of submissions and fourth largest in the number of participants.
