Job openings and Interests
edit
- The Wikimedia Community Usergroup in Uganda is primarily a volunteer based, run, organisation. However, as the organisation grows, there develops a need for staff, and professional services.
- When such opportunities arise, priority is given to the Volunteers who have been involved with the Usergroup for a specific period of time.
- Secondary priority can also be given to outstanding candidates who can meet job requirements.
- We invite all interested job seekers to express interest under this section.
- On Friday 5th August 2022, the Usergroup shared an opening for an Accountant position, the short notice call, was closed on Monday 5th August 2022 with 7 applications received.
- The process, and successful candidates were meant to be announced by 10 August 2022, but due to the annual Wikimania conference, this might be delayed by a week. Updates will be shared on this meta page.
- The hiring process, selection, and interviews will be conducted by the Board selected representative (s), who will work closely with Finance and Administration to select a possible candidate.
- If the selected candidate has never volunteered with the Usergroup for a specific period of time, and depending on the duration of volunteering, they might be required to undergo an internship before any job offers.
- Due to unavoidable delays, successful candidates and the criteria will be shared by October 2022
