tour details / description:
This historical tour will show you the former settlement of the Czech protestant refugees in Berlin - de:Böhmisch-Rixdorf in de:Berlin-Neukölln (en:Neukölln). The members of the en:Moravian Church came to Berlin about 1737 after they have been persecuted in Bohemia and lived there till approx. the middle of the 20th century. You will see de:Richardplatz, de:Rixdorfer Schmiede, de:Comenius-Garten, the museum and - if I get the permission - de:Bethlehemskirche and de:Böhmischer Gottesacker Rixdorf (the permission has been arranged for both although normally they are not open at that time).

- duration: just about two / two and half hours (+ about 1 hour for the tube there and back)

If there is some interest and time left we can continue to have a short walk in the well known de:Bergmannstraße in de:Berlin-Kreuzberg (en:Kreuzberg), some four underground stops from there.
