Description
In this session Toby and Birgit provide an introduction in investigating the scope and requirements of software projects.

Attendees will learn

  • what needs to be considered when planning a technical project
  • how to ask the right questions to understand the scope of a project
  • which stakeholders they need to communicate with
  • how they can find out if the planned tool would affect community culture/rules
  • about the different requirements for different technical projects (external tools, gadgets, Mediawiki-extensions ...)
  • about possible contacts according to their project
  • about options like community wishlist or individual grant

The session is a first step to enable organisations and individuals to plan and manage technical projects.
