What does diversity in techincal development it mean?

Participation: getting more people involved -- eg mentoring, google code (e.g. google summer of code)

Partnering: How people can access and take part in the technology / partnerships with allied organizations

Communication: Technical communication (documentation)

• can work on our retention & screening process

• Initial integration with OSM tools and community

• Bots that write to the API - fix spelling, dead links - using it as read basis

• Starting to query Wikidata

• Collaboration with OKFN during Summer of Code

• Communication

• The notification on Notifications were pretty good

2. What new ideas result from the conference? (specific to technological development)

Participation

• Tools:

• Reducing the barriers - eg editing tools

• User experience that leverages social media norms and tools

• Focused users group - eg. wiki chicks (women only spaces)

• Profiles - as a means for identification and connection

• Systemic bias - Writing scripts to query Wikidata to check systemic bias

• Training & Documentation:

• Guided Tour - walk through workflows. Individual wikis can make their own JavaScript tours, which also introduces people into developing technology.

• Partnering

• Increased dialogue allied communities -

• Representation at conferences and smaller local events

• More collaborations like OKFN

• Co-worker events to enhance OKFN annotation tools and our use of it

• OSM tIle server - moving towards being able to make improvements to OSM tech

• Partnering with various wikimedia projects

• Login with OAuth, such as Facebook and G+?

• Communication

4. What future projects should be started and who likes to take part?

Future Projects We Recommend Prioritizing

• Diverse documentation!!!

• Not just more extensive documentation but rather guided tours / help tips

• Better communication about documentation tools - so people will actually use them

• Accessible and iterative user experience

• Feedback from regular users about the technology / including readers

• Listening - eg. visual editor -- users can influence project development

• Listening to these other communities -- create spaces and events where we can hear them

• Partnerships and events

• Feedack forms
