Rules

Do you think the FDC/FDC Ombudsperson rules are sufficient, and if not what are your suggestions?-- Francis Kaswahili - Talk 19:22,27 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi Francis. Thank you for your question. I think the existing rules are sufficient for an ombudsperson to operate with a basic level of effectiveness, but that the rules could be improved to more effectively use the ombudsperson. Specifically, I think the rules should be refined to distinguish when and how the ombudsperson acts as a mediator between complainants and the FDC/staff, as an internal auditor to investigate errors and variances in the FDC process, and as a program evaluator to collect and synthesize feedback regarding the FDC process. Outlining these three roles and the rules by which the ombudsperson will fulfill the roles will help ombudspersons more effectively execute their duties and better serve the community. Hello Francis. I think the rules are sufficient, maybe they can have a little tweaking, so that they are clearer, but in general too many rules may turn the role into a rigid one, and, in my opinion, it is important that the ombudsperson is flexible to deal with feedback, in a way that no complaint is left behind. Thanks for your interest. Lusitana (talk) 09:01, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
