Wikimedians of Minnesota User Group

Wikimedians of Minnesota User Group is a Wikimedia user group serving Wikimedians in the Minnesota area. It hosts edit-a-thons and community events to promote Wikimedia projects, as listed at the Wikipedia Minnesota meetup page.

Objectives

• Promote use of Wikimedia projects by people in Minnesota
• Help people in Minnesota learn how to edit Wikimedia projects
• Organize in-person gatherings of Wikimedians in Minnesota

Activities

• Edit-a-thons for Wikipedia, Wikisource, and Wikidata in Minnesota, including:
  • Wiki Loves Pride 2018 on Saturday, June 30, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Minneapolis Central Library.
  • Wiki Loves Pride 2018 on Saturday, July 28, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Quatrefoil Library.
• Promote editing of Minnesota content on Wikimedia projects
• Trainings around Minnesota on how to edit Wikimedia projects

• Founded the user group in January 2016
