Bobby going to Germany for a Goethe institute conference
edit- Bobby attended Goethe Institute's AGM
- They were looking to better align better with outside organisations, WMZA was only one present
- Bobby presented there on Decolonising the Internet (Wikimania presentation)
- Goethe asked Bobby to repeat presentation in Germany - focus on inclusion and diversity, how we view the internet
- Bobby presenting in Berlin on Tuesday next week
- Bobby planning to blog on experience
- Douglas will be in Berlin the week after, offers to do any followups if needed
Survey for Wikipedia ZA
edit- Need for this, especially post Wikimania
- Dougas ran previous survey (2015), has sent out email to contact person (2/3 months ago), hasn't heard back yet
- Query about Google form
- Douglas prefers WMF's professional survey tool, better analytics

edit- We are still hosting with 1-grid, fees paid annually in advance, so no pressing need to change right now

- Mailing list (Afrikaans): 312 members. Suspect most are fake, aol addresses, no valid activity for years

Hackathon update
edit- Sentech have come on board, broadcasting Wikipedias (part of the unused frequency will be used to send out offline files - Kiwix/Sentech)
- All on track, should have date soon
Events
edit- Douglas going to Madrid for advocacy conference (no agenda yet)
- Rhodes university event, Deon and Rossouw both confirmed, intros done, will be in early July
- Cape Town Meetup happening 2 June, R1500 snacks budget approved
- Bobby and Dumi have met Puku, a followup Puku event to be organised. Puku wanted to go big with training their writers - will start small with edit workshop. Bobby to followup
- 1 lib 1 ref good feedback, going ahead on own steam
