Wikimedia Anambra Network is a network of the Wikimedia Nigeria User Group devoted to promoting Wikimedia projects and other projects of Wikimedia Nigeria movement and access to knowledge in Anambra state. It was founded on 24th September 2022.

It's made up of a group of volunteers with the main purpose of contributing to Wikimedia and her related projects in Anambra state. This network shall domicile in Anambra state and run by volunteers with coordination from Wikimedia UG Nigeria (WUGN). This network will seek to promote Wikimedia projects through the execution of projects and training as a way of exposing the volunteers to the movement.


Objectives

  • To promote Wikimedia projects in Anambra State.
  • To teach volunteers how to contribute to Wikimedia projects
  • To organize in-person gatherings of Wikimedians in Anambra State.

  • Organizing Edit-a-thons for Wikipedia, Wikisource, and Wikidata in Anambra State.
  • Promote editing of Nigeria-related content on Wikimedia projects
  • Translate-a-thons

  • Photo walks
