Wikipedia 16 across Bangladesh

The 16th anniversary of Wikipedia was celebrated with meetups, editathons across 7 cities in 6 division of Bangladesh on 15th January, 2017. The celebration took pace in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Sylhet, Barisal, Rangpur and Bogra. Wikipedians gathered to discuss upcoming events and related issues in the meetups. They did also cut cakes on the occasion.

Annual General Meeting

The second Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Wikimedia Bangladesh was held on January 27, 2017 at Bangladesh Association of Softwar and Information Sevices Auditorium, Dhaka-1205. Members of executive committee (EC) and members of operations committee (OC) were present in the meeting. After the meeting WMBD celebrated the 13th Anniversary of Bengali Wikipedia with the wikimedians from all over the country.

13th Anniversary of Bengali Wikipedia

The celebration for the 13th Anniversary of Bengali Wikipedia was held in Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Sevices Auditorium, Dhaka-1205. Wikimedians from different part of Bangladesh joined in this celebration. Munni Shaha, a famous journalist of Bangladesh, was also participated in the celebration. Wikimedia Bangladesh arranged the program.

Ekushey Wiki gathering across Bangladesh

21st February, 2017, the International Mother Language Day, WMBD arranged an offline event named Ekushey Wiki gathering across Bangladesh. This program was held in 4 cities of the country. The cities are Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Rangpur. Local wikipedia community arranged this event in their city. By this event they invite general people to enrichh wikipedia.

Workshop on Wikipedia in university of Rajshahi, April

In University of Rajshahi, Rajshahi Wikipedia Comunity and Institute of Education and Research of the university jointly arranged a workshop for the student of the Institute. WMBD member Masum Al Hasan and Mushfiq Munna were present there with many teacher of the university. Almost 70 students were participated in the workshop. Most of them were new in wikipedia.

Wikipedia Workshop at Comilla University, April

A workshop was arranged in Comilla University. It was held in 7th April. About 50 students were present in the workshop. Most of them are new in wikipedia. In the workshop, They learn how to edit an article in wikipedia.

WikiMeetup Dhaka, May

The first WikiMeetup took place on May, 2017. About 7 wikipedians from Dhaka community took part in the meetup. Wikipedia activities in Dhaka and future working plan were discussed in the meetup.

WikiMeetup Dhaka, July

The second WikiMeetup took place on 28th July, 2017. About 10 wikimedians from different part of Bangladesh were present in the meetup.

WikiMeetup Rajshahi, August

First meetup of Rajshahi wikipedia Community was held in University of Rajshahi campus on 19th August, 2017. About 10 wikimedians were present there. They discussed about Wiki Loves Monuments.

WikiMeetup Dhaka, August

A WikiMeetup took place on August 26, 2017 in Dhaka.About 15 Wikipedians took part in the meetup. As a regular meetup among the Wikipedians in Dhaka, it included discussion on ongoing agendas and upcoming Wiki activities.

WikiMeetup Dhaka, September

The fourth WikiMeetup of Dhaka Community took place on 22 September, 2017. About 20 wikimedians from different part of Bangladesh were present in the meetup.

WikiMeetup with Anupam Sen, Chittagong

Anupam Sen, a Bangladeshi academic and social scientist was present in a wikimeetup which was arranged by Chattogram Wikipedia Community on 15th November 2017. In this meeting German poet Armin Steigenberger, Christel Steigenberger & Moheen Reeyad were also present.

WikiMeetup Dhaka, December

The last meetup of Dhaka community was held in 29th December, 2017. About 10 wikimedians were present in the meetup. They discussed about the annual activity of the year and made plan for upcoming year also.

WikiMeetup Rajshahi, December

The last meetup of Rajshahi Wikipedia Community was held in University of Rajshahi campus on 29th December, 2017. About 10 wikimedians were present there. They discussed about the annual activity of the community and made some plans for upcomming year.

WikiMeetup Sylhet, December

Sylhet wikipedia Community arranged a wikimeetup in 30th December to discuss about the activity of 2017. Old and new wikimedians of Sylhet were present in the meeting. The meeting was held in Shahi Eidgah, Sylhet.

WikiMeetup Chittagong, December

in 30th December, 2017 there held a meetup in Chittagong with the local wikimedians. It was the last meetup of Chittagong Wikipedia Community.

Workshop for Santali Wikipedia Community in Bangladesh

Workshop for Santali Wikipedia Community in Bangladesh was held in 30th Decemeber, 2017. Around 7 wikipedians were present in the workshop. Most of them are new in wikimedia movement. Wikimedia Bangladesh trained them to work in Santali Wikipedia, which is now in incubator.
