Rencontres Wikimédia 2012

edit

The "rencontres Wikimédia" (Wikimedia meetings) on education took place on December 14 and 15 at the university Paris-Descartes. The choice of the topics and the talent of the speakers fulfilled the expectations of the participants and made the debates rewarding. The presentation the day before of the government's plan for digital technologies at school comforts Wikimedia France in the choice of emphasizing this topic. Hopefully fruitful collaborations with new partners will build up. The opening speech by the president of the university Paris Descartes, who is a convinced Wikipedian, the words of the technical advisor of the ministry of education as well as those of the academic teacher François Taddei sounded promising. A stimulative overview of the uses of Wikipedia and open-source pedagogical resources demonstrated the usefulness of Wikimedian actions. Then came several thanks and requests from teachers, librarians and professors wishing to be assisted in their pedagogical projects.

The speeches during those two days have been recorded. A summary will be available online soon.
