Commons photo competition at Prishtina University - International Summer University (UPISU) 2017

University of Prishtina, Kosovo, has asked FLOSSK/WALUG to help them organize a photo competition between 4-11 July during their International Summer University. UPISU attracts about 800 students, most of them come from Kosovo and other countries in South-East Europe. This would be our first project working with Prishtina University and provide an opening for future cooperation with them. We were contacted by them first, which is a positive sign.

Students will be instructed to take photos representing Kosovo during their stay in Kosovo and upload them to Commons. A jury of 3, including possibly a member of UPISU will judge the photos and announce a winner on UPISU conclusion ceremony. This is a great opportunity to promote Commons and Wikipedia to a new audience in Kosovo and the region. Prishtina University will give an award to the photographer of the best photo, whereas we will hand out Wikimedia stickers to the participants present.

Expected number of participants is 70 with 250 photos expected.
