CWT Meeting on 16 Nov 2024
During the November community call, the user group members generally appreciated the coordinated collective effort behind the bid and decided to form a Core Working Team (CWT), along with an extended supporting team. This team will focus on communication with other organizations and the main COT of WikiConference India (WCI) 2025
On November 2, the City Selection Committee announced the bid results, and Kochi was selected as the venue for WikiConference India (WCI) 2025.
Forty Wikimedians have expressed their support and eagerness to get involved and volunteer for WikiConference India (WCI) 2025, well before the bid deadline of October 30, 2024.
The Bid Committee working group has reached out to organizations and institutions for collaboration in supporting the Open Knowledge Movement and helping host WikiConference India (WCI) 2025 in Kochi. We are pleased to have secured support from seven key entities within the ecosystem.
It was the Wikimedians of Kerala User Group Who submitted the first expression of Interest for Hosting WCI 2025 on 20 Oct 2024.
Bid Committee Working Group Formed on 13 Oct 2024.
User Group Monthly Meetup, discussion on 12 Oct 2024, participants explored the idea to submit a bid for hosting the WCI 2025 in Kerala. The participants expressed their support for the idea, and decided to form a dedicated group was to work on proposal and submit the bid for Kochi as location.
