About Celebration Wikimedia Nepal celebrated the 13th Anniversary of Nepali Wikipedia (https://ne.wikipedia.org/) as a national event. A whole day program was organized in Rajbiraj to mark the special day. Wikipedia was begun in Nepal in 3rd June, 2002 with Nepali Language Wikipedia. Now, there are three projects (Wikipedia, Wiki books and Wiktionary) in Nepali language and Wikipedia in five other languages spoken in Nepal (Maithili, Nepal Bhasa, Bhojpuri, Pali, Sanskrit). A great moment of excitement among the participants was the fact that the Nepali Wikipedia has now surpassed 28,000 articles during the last twelve years and is gearing up for a 30,000 articles in the near future.
