editAbout the competition :
The Maktub Kateb Project is an initiative undertaken by the Wikimedians of United Arab Emirates User Group and the Emirates Literature Foundation in cooperation with the Google platform, with the aim of enriching and developing the content of the Arabic Wikipedia encyclopedia with Arab authors and writers. This initiative stems from our belief that the relationship between the reader and the writer lies in the availability of sufficient information about books and their authors to attract the reader to the content and thus examine and read the book.
Therefore, the main objective of the Kateb Maktub project is to raise awareness of Arab writers and their works, and to provide information of high quality and credibility about them, to open up knowledge horizons for the Arab reader and create a strong link between the reader and the writer.
