Wikipedia for Peace Online: Stop Fake News and War Propaganda

About the project
This is an online workcamp: In the digital era fake news and war propaganda provide a distorted image of current and past events. This online workcamp is an opportunity to focus on the mechanism of misinformation and propaganda as well as on those individuals and entities that work for peace and non-violence. Therefore, the topics that we also want to tackle on over are antimilitarism and non-violence. During 7 online meetings we will learn how to write Wikipedia articles and will get to know more about inspiring people and organisations confronting fake news, identifying and combating war propaganda, and biased media coverage.
A week of editing Wikipedia together and connecting! Every day we have ca. 2 hours in the early evening (Central European Time) where we gather in the video platform Zoom. We will be a group of 15 participants from around the world. You don't have to have any experience of editing Wikipedia to join it. We will meet online via video calls from 24 of September till 23 of October. The language of the workcamp will be English, yet we encourage you to edit Wikipedia articles in your native language. Apart from editing Wikipedia and learning / discussing about antimilitarism, we will also get to know each other.
