Bots are welcome on Wikis World provided they don't disrupt the human experience nor cause additional moderation workload. These rules are not set in stone and we are open to making changes as appropriate.
Bots are roughly defined as when an automated process writes the text/media for a post. Using crossposting or scheduling software with human-written posts doesn't qualify as a bot.
Bots must:
- publish their source code under an open source license
- mention who the operator is and include a link to the source code in their bio/profile
- post unlisted (#Introduction and other manual posts can be publicly listed)
- post no more than 5 posts per day
- This is an initial guideline and if you have a more active bot, please reach out and we can discuss.
- take reasonable precautions to ensure they aren't posting problematic or quickly deleted content
- We mostly don't want a repeat of the CongressEdits issue when it was abused to amplify doxxing
Bot accounts must be approved by the moderation team, requests can be made on Talk:Wikis World. Bots that don't fit our criteria are encouraged to use another instance instead.
