Reusing Wikisource
editThe Dicothèque
editFrench Wikisource contributors User:Lyokoï and User:Poslovitch started developing an interface for consulting and comparing dictionaries available on Wikisource they dubbed the Dicothèque (French portmanteau of dico- = dictionary and bibliothèque = library).
A prototype was made available on the French Wikisource in May 2023 at s:fr:Wikisource:Dicothèque. It currently allows consultation of 28 dictionaries.
As it makes heavy use of Wikidata, it was also showcased at WikidataCon 2023 in November 2023 and garnered attention from the global Wikisource community.
The project goal was therefore expanded to become compatible with most linguistic editions of Wikisource. Thus, the Dicothèque is now planned to be released as its own website instead of on-wiki in early 2024.
The code is available on Wikimedia Gitlab.
