Autoblocks
An autoblock is a block that occurs automatically when an Internet Protocol address (IP address) had been recently used to edit Meta-Wiki by a blocked user. These blocks usually expire in 24 hours, or less if the account was blocked for less than that period of time.

Requesting an unblock and disabling an autoblock
editRequesting an unblock
editIf you are still able to edit your talk page while autoblocked, you may appeal your block by using the {{unblock}}
template, and provide a reason to why you should be unblocked. An administrator will then unblock you if the request was accepted. If the unblock request was declined, that means that the user would not be unblocked.
Disabling an autoblock
editAutoblock is usually enabled by the administrator who blocked an account or IP address from editing Meta-Wiki. However, autoblock can be disabled by an administrator by adding "Autoblock disabled" as a block parameter, which will disable users being automatically blocked when an IP address had been used by a blocked user.

Note that only administrators and interface editors can edit pages in the MediaWiki namespace, otherwise known as interface pages. The interface page for the autoblock message can be found at MediaWiki:Autoblockedtext.

Blocks preformed by abuse filter
editThe blocks preformed by User:Abuse filter are done automatically, but do not exactly count as autoblocks. This is because the account preforms actions triggered by the abuse filter, but autoblocks occur due to the use of an IP address by a blocked user. The list of blocks preformed by the automated account can be found here.
