editDescription - Science Photo Competition 2018 is a Russian Federation photography contest, conducted by Wikimedia movement volunteers to promote science and illustration of science-related Wikipedia articles by quality modern photography and media-files. The contest will take place from the 15th of July through the 30th of September 2018. Authors of 15 best photoes & multimedia files uploaded on Wikimedia Commons (3*5 nominations) will be awarded.
The contest is co-organized by Wikimedia Russia volunteers in partnership with Russian-language "Nauka" 24/7 Science TV Channel.

Comment: this banner should not overlap with Wiki Loves Monuments (Sept. 1-30, 2018) to avoid overload. It's also a bit strange that Wikimedia Russia wants to organize its own photo contest that overlaps with the much larger and more important international photo contest traditionally held in September. @Ctac, could you comment on that, please? --Alexander (talk) 10:02, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
