I wish there was a better way to add and/or translate subtitles on sound and video files on Commons. The currently available solution takes too long and is exceedingly manual, where you have to write the timestamps entirely on your own (where one line of text starts and ends) with a lot of different symbols. I have done so for quite short videos (less than a minute), but more than that gives me a headache. It seems natural that this gets improved in order to increase the accessibility of these files, both for people with hearing loss and making the files multilingual.
When these are translated, this also has to be done manually in source text, even if the original timestamps are kept.
