Description

Currently, it is quite tedious for editors across various Wikimedia projects to plan and track which pages (especially main articles) they need to edit based on priority, interest levels, topics, and page improvement tasks (such as copyediting, template cleanup, adding references, improving readability, requests from other users, and category-based tasks).

If there is a personalized editing workboard (something similar to the Phabricator workboard or the WikiProjectMed Translation Dashboard), users could plan their tasks properly and speed up their editing process without needing to list out every single task manually on their main user page.

In addition, users could "bookmark" the pages they are committed to working on, similar to the "star" button for user watchlists. This would generate an interface allowing users to assign tasks systematically based on tags, and later these tasks could be automatically sorted on their personalized editing workboard.

If users become tired or uninterested in completing the tasks they have assigned to themselves, they could easily delete or remove tasks from the workboard. Alternatively, there could be a due date feature that allows users to set a maximum number of days/months/years that a task can remain on their workboard, with tasks being automatically abandoned if they are not addressed within the set timeframe.

However, generating a never-ending list of tasks might be tedious and exhausting, especially for newcomers. There should be a limit on how many tasks users can add to the workboard based on their editing experience. For example, each newcomer (fewer than 10 edits) could only have up to 3 tasks at a time, and they would need to either finish or abandon one task to add a new one. For learners (10 to 500 edits), they could have up to 10 tasks on their workboard, and for experienced users (more than 500 edits), they could have up to 20 tasks. The criteria for defining "newcomers," "learners," and "experienced editors" and how much tasks each user level could retain on their workboard should be adjustable by the local community.
