Why help organize the FindingGLAMs Campaign in your local Wikimedia Community?editThe FindingGLAMs crowdsourcing campaign (date to be chosen at a later point) is open to anyone. Volunteers from all over the world can participate in improving Wikidata items of GLAM institutions. They’re not required to participate in an organized drive or sign up for anything. The campaign can also be run in an organized way in a specific country, area, city, language etc. A local organizer team has the capacity to engage more volunteers, including participants from the GLAM sector without previous Wikimedia experience, and to spread information about the project in their own area. A local organizer team can represent a user group or Wikimedia chapter, if one exists in the participating Wikimedia community. The team has knowledge about the local Wikimedia community and a contact network with cultural heritage institutions. It’s good if some of the team members have Wikidata experience, but it’s not necessary. |
