Meet Italy

Meet Italy is an editing month challenge for Wiki Club's members in the Republic of Macedonia, taking place from 1 March to 30 March 2023. It is organized by GLAM Macedonia with support of the Embassy of Italy in Skopje. The aim of Meet Italy is to fill the content gap on Italian themes on the Macedonian Wikipedia. As a topic of articles are accepted all Italian themes: history, geography and culture of Italy and much more. More info for the project: Meet_Italy

Seminars for teachers

On the 2th of March, we held a seminar for teachers in Skopje. 14 teachers successfully attended the seminar in "Braka Miladinovci" primary school and received certificates. The main theme of the seminar was "Media literacy and Wikipedia". The keynote speakers on media literacy and culture and Wiki Club in Skopje were Tatjana Gogoska, Master of Communication Sciences, Ana Vishinova and Elena Krsteska. The keynote speaker on Wikipedia was Snezana Shtrkovska, president of GLAM Macedonia.

Training of students from 11 Oktomvri

Twelve students from the elementary school "11 Oktomvri" from Skopje received training on editing Wikipedia articles in the Macedonian language.

On March 3, 2023, twelve sixth and seventh grade students received training on how to edit Wikipedia articles. The trainer of the training was: Elena Krsteva.

This type of training is of great importance to us and is more than necessary, in order for the Macedonian Wikipedia to be replenished with interesting and new articles, as well as to increase the number of new students who want to contribute to Wikipedia in the Macedonian language.

Edit-a-thon Woman's Day

On March 6, 2023, on the occasion of the approach of International Women's Day, an edit-a-thon on the topic of Woman was held. All Macedonian language Wikipedia editors were invited and welcome to make their contribution. It was desirable that the articles be biographies of women who have contributed to humanity in any way. 35 participants made their contribution and wrote 50 new articles on Wikipedia in the Macedonian language. Wikipedia and Wikipedians in the Macedonian language have been contributing to Wikipedia for several years now, writing about women around the world.

Wiki Club Kocani

On March 10, 2023 year in the premises of the primary school "Nikola Karev" - Kocani, we opened a new Wiki club. 10 students grade received training on editing Wikipedia articles in the Macedonian language. Immediately, each of them made their own article confirming their interest in useful volunteerism. . The club consists of 10 students under the mentorship of teacher and master Ljupka Stojmenova. The trainer of the students was Elena Krsteva who presented the activities, future and past projects of Glam Macedonia and trained them to edit Wikipedia articles in the Macedonian language.

Living Heritage

In March we started with sending WiRs in several institution and in several cities as Ohrid, Veles and Skopje.

Training of students from J.H.Pestaloci

Nine students from the primary school in the "J.H.Pestaloci" Center from Skopje received training in editing Wikipedia articles in the Macedonian language. On March 14, 2023, nine seventh grade students received training on how to edit Wikipedia articles in the Macedonian language. The trainer of the training was: Elena Krsteva.

Training of Italian language and literature students at the Faculty of Philology Blaze Koneski

In cooperation and joint project with the Embassy of Italy in Macedonia, Glam Macedonia organized and implemented training of ten students from the Department of Italian language and literature from UKIM. GLAM Macedonia and the Italian Embassy in Macedonia are organizing a project that is currently underway for a month-long editorial challenge Meet Italy, where wiki Club members are invited to write and edit articles related to culture history and other topics for Italy, While UKIM students are invited to write on topics about music and film through time in Italy. On Friday 24.03 in the premises of UKIM, students from the Department of Italian language had training how Wikipedia articles were edited and written in Macedonian. The lecturers of the training were Frosina Dimitrova and Elena Krsteva - Employees of Glam Macedonia. The training was two and a half hours. Guests of the event were prof. Dr., Aneta Ducevska, Prof. Dr. Irina Talevska, who are also the mentors of the project and Head Prof. Dr. Guido Srempf. Cold ones are invited to participate and contribute to new articles on Italian Wikipedia music and film topics in Macedonian.
