First of all, Wiki Women or Wiki Women 2024 ( formally Wiki Women Edit-a-thon) aim to creating awareness about gender related issues and value the being of women . In occassion of International Women's Day , a month long Wiki Women Edit-a-thon was started in the year 2016 as the first initiation and continued in 2017, 2018, 2019 ending up creating and editing 1500+ articles in numerous languages over Wikipedia and it's sister projects.
Carrying forward the legacy, this time we're focusing in awareness about Women related health issues. According to different global survey bunch of Women all around the world loses their life due to the lack of proper health awareness about Women related health issues. There are still a lot of communities and societies where the open discussion of Women related health issues are not properly discussed and addressed due to numerious social beliefs. So, the foremost task of this initiative is to deliver brief awareness to address those issues via creating and improving those contents over Wikipedia and it's sister projects.

Our major approaches & strategies are to develop and achieve high number of quality and productive contents related to Womedn related health issues. With a theme of "Right person at right job" we're deploying a long time media person and leading sport journalist of Nepal Sonika Aryal and MBBS doctor Sabina Khadka one of our executive team member for this event. Along with that we're approaching women lead institutions and organizations like Women Leaders in Technology (WLiT) and Nepali Women+ in Computing (NWiC) as our event associates which helps both of us to create a better contents and exposures.
Here’s the execution timeline we’re already working on: Beginning of the event - on March 01 Research and Listing - March - 01 to March 10 (Research and create list of Women related health issues and scripting ) Edit-a-thon - March - 01 to April 15 Organize edit-a-thon in ne.wikipedia.org for mass participation Awareness session - March 08 and 22 (Awareness session about Wiki Women Initiative with enthusiasts) Content creation - March 15 and April 10 - Create Wikipedia articles and awareness videos on Women related health issues Finalize and upload : April 05 and April 15 - Finalize and upload videos on Wikimedia Commons and embed to concerned projects and articles Closing of the event - April 15

Content creation- to discover and create real-time contents either articles or videos to aware Wikipedia readers and viewers Edit-a-thon - to create and modify women health related contents over Wikipedia and it’s sister projects Closing event - Report, metrics, blogs and Glimpse of the overall event.

All the active contributors of Wikimedia projects and user groups operating in Nepal will be our foremost target audience for participation and execution. Apart from that we'll be organizing promotional sessions in colleges and associate organizations.
Regarding engagement of participants before and during the event. We'll be executing promotional awareness sessions via online platform and offline meet-ups before execution. We'll be engaging the team and participants via awareness session during the event time. And afterwards we'll be organizing edit-a-thon session to improve and place the contributed contents in related articles.
Also, we're running the awareness session for all the known and unknown audiences via online and offline platforms regarding event, duration, terms of usage and proper placing of the contents. Along with that we'll be focused on recognizing and admiring the contributors and associates with all kind of operating supports and motivation needed during all kind of session to be organized.
