Goals
editDid you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went? We overreached the goals that were set. We wrote more articles and uploaded more pictures than expected. I'm happy overall. I think there were too high expectations concerning the budget from the participants. Maybe I should have made it more clear that the accommodation and food will be simple, as everything else would have been too expensive in Sweden. I'm also somewhat sad that there were participants that didn't write or contribute in any form that much. While of course there were other participants that wrote over 20 articles or that contributed through presentations etc in ways more important than the edit count.
Outcome
editPlease report on your original project targets.
Target outcome | Achieved outcome | Explanation |
40 articles | 80 articles | some people prepared articles beforehand or were very sure what they wanted to write about |
100 photos | several hundred | all people that took photos were experienced and could upload everything quickly and also categorize it. |
Learning
editProjects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
Having people that I knew would contribute a lot because of their reputation within the movement or because of what they had done before at projects that I organized.
- What did not work so well?
Groupe atmosphere wasn't as good as last year. Maybe because of the place. Maybe because of people that were there last year that were missing this year.
- What would you do differently next time?
Be more careful on who is invited. Don't invite "difficult" people even though I'm really sorry to say this. The movement should be open.
Finances
editGrant funds spent
editPlease describe how much grant money you spent for approved expenses, and tell us what you spent it on.
Bank fees: 22,5 Euros.
Accommodation: 3 x 115,4 Euros = 346,2 Euro. (This because WMDE couldn't spent money on people that are not from Germany for staying in Sweden. However WMAT was so kind to sponsor flight costs that we had initially calculated, which is why we were able to pay for the accommodation from the rapid grant funds.)
Extra accommodation for Tunisian participant for one night: 27,95 Euros. (I would like to pay for the night from the 6th to the 7th for him as his flight was delayed and he only arrived on the 4th. He contributed greatly and made a presentation. Other people that stayed longer I was able to offer places at friends houses. Me and the other Austrian participant that stayed longer also in the same accommodation paid for ourselves. But the Tunisian participant is still a student, so I'd like to cover this with the WMF fund.)
Food if I subtract the lump sum from WMDE for me and other participant living in Germany would be 685,24 Euros.
Flights for the Spanish and Polish participant as both branches didn't want to sponsor the travels 513,45 Euros.
The Visa costs for the Tunisian participant that I would also again like to cover as he is a student and it's a lot of money if you convert it into Tunisian Dinar would be 85 Euros.
Overall we would than have a small minus of -10,02 Euros.
Please inform me if that would be OK and especially if it would be OK to pay for the Visa of the Tunesian participant.
