Strategy Q&A session.

MENA/Latin American Contest meeting
Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?
As the only representative from the Chilean community, I tried to reply past year's experience of sharing my Wikimania experience through social media, sending updates to the Wikimedia Chile's members group on Whatsapp and tweeting live from both my personal and Wikimedia Chile's accounts. I tweeted only in Spanish about the sessions I attended -- because there was too many tweets on English with the hashtag #wikimania and almost nothing in my language!, which included pre-conference, keynotes, legal talks and the Strategy Space discussions (where I joined the panel of the Q&A session). I also tweeted about the meetings I had as the only representative of the Board of Wikimedia Chile. You can see all my live-tweeting in this Storify.
Option 3: New Creation: What was one useful outcome that was created at the event for the Wikimedia movement?
Something that was just an idea before the conference, and actually was born in Wikimania, is the editing contest organized by Iberocoop and the affiliates from the Middle East & North Africa, MENA (including Wikimedia Levant, Iranian Wikimedians User Group and Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey). This contest will be held next October/November, and it will be an amazing cultural interchange, in order to have a truly global movement!

Connections

Iberoconf meeting group photo.

Wikimania is always an amazing opportunity to meet new people from across the movement and make new friends, and also share in-person with the wikimedians you already consider as friends, and this year wasn't the exception.

Among the new wikimedians I met in Montreal were User:African Hope and User:عباد ديرانية, both my colleagues in the Strategy process; User:Mervat Salman and User:HakanIST, who also joined the MENA-Latin contest organization (see above); User:LilyOfTheWest, one of the main organizers of Wiki Loves Monuments. I also had very interesting conversations with User:Diego (WMF), User:SKeith (WW), Claudio Ruiz (Creative Commons).

As president of Wikimedia Chile, I attended the Chairpersons and Iberocoop meetings.
