Budget

edit

You need to specify some budget costs in order to get a grant. The IEG committee does not award random sums of money as far as I know. Your idea is fine, but the activities eligible for a grant cannot be paid editing. Since the actual translation activity you are describing is editing on Wikipedia, I don't think that qualifies for a grant, but holding the Wikipedia training, the organisation of curation of student activities (and their Wikipedia articles they produce) in a controlled set of classes, and the organisation of all this might qualify. Hi Jane! Thanks for your feedback and I presumed such was the case, I'm waiting for Louis to add costs for training as I do not know what they amount to in Uganda.--Sophie 11:24, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Grantee

edit

Hi Sophie, The grantee for a project like this would need to be Louis, or another volunteer Wikimedian - as a WMF staffer now, you could serve as advisor for this project, but you'd not be eligible for the grant yourself. Best of luck completing this project, if you guys decide to move forward with it today (still a few hours left!). Cheers, Siko (WMF) (talk) 20:34, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
