Grants talk:IdeaLab/Community Health User Group
Interested in applying for a WMF Grant?
edit@FloNight: Thanks for your work on this idea during the Inspire Campaign to organize a User Group committed to improving the well-being of Wikimedia communities. Having read over the proposal, I wanted to ask if you were seeking funding through a Wikimedia Foundation grant: We have Rapid Grants for projects requiring up to USD 2,000 (applications are welcome anytime), and Project Grants for projects requiring more substantial funding (applications for the current round will be due Aug. 2nd). If you are interested, I wanted to offer my support in helping you develop your proposal. A few things you could do to get started include:
- Considering this is a proposed new user group, are there any resources needed for outreach to attract membership or participation?
- With regard to the training sessions / mentoring currently proposed on the draft, what resources might be needed to prepare materials for this kind of training? Were you considering holding these sessions online, at movement conferences, or at another kind of event/meetup?
- One of the items is to assist folks who are actively working on proposals in IdeaLab. Are there things we could change about IdeaLab to make it easier for folks to contribute their ideas and continue to build them?
As you work on your proposal, we also have sessions on Google Hangouts on July 20th, 29th, and Aug. 2nd. If you'd like to chat about your proposal at a different time, let me know and we'll try to arrange something individually. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 16:35, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
- Replied to your email. A rapid grant should work for the group so not time sensitive. I'm interested but swapped with WikiConference North America now. It will be a week or two until I turn by attention to it. Sydney Poore/FloNight (talk) 23:40, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
