Hello Pellagia Njau, thanks for submitting this grant request. The Organizing Lab review team has reviewed your grant request and here is our feedback and questions.

The proposal demonstrates a clear understanding of the desired change and its alignment with community strategies. It recognizes the importance of accessible climate knowledge in Swahili to empower the local population, particularly women and environmental groups, to contribute online content in Swahili. The proposal is building on past success and leverages the 2023 Organizer Lab project, potentially re-engaging past participants for continued contribution. The collaboration with interesting partners adds value and fosters long-term support for the movement.

The Azam TV partnership presents a strategic opportunity and it has the potential to significantly increase visibility for the Organizer Lab program and the Wikimedia movement in Tanzania. Additionally, the project will contribute valuable Swahili content related to climate change and sustainability on Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons.

We think that building connections with the local community and 2023 Organizer Lab project is crucial. Here are some questions to address:

  • How can you leverage your project to build a connection with the 2023 Organizer Lab project in Tanzania? How can their previous work support you in mobilizing and engaging participants for your project? How can you use your project to continue their work?
  • We would love to learn more about how you discussed the idea of your project with community members and relevant groups/stakeholders. Did you have any discussions with your project team and how? Did you engage the leadership of the target Wikimedia communities in discussions pertaining to your planned project and how? Aside from these two groups, are there other people you engaged with and how?
  • This is a new project that targets new contributors. How can you leverage the new event registration tool to manage your events, give first-time participants good experience on the wikis, and evaluate the impact of your work for effective reporting?

We are extending the proposed one-month timeline to three months given the tasks involved, such as planning, team assembly, participant mobilization, communication kit creation, and technical setup.

We made a decision to fully fund this grant request in the amount of 12,050,000 TZS (4,700.04 USD). We wish you all the best with your upcoming project! Best regards, --DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:16, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dear Team,
Thankyou for taking into consideration in approving my proposal.
In addressing the questions asked;
  • Building a connection between projects can be beneficial for implementing this project. Leveraging the project to build a connection with the 2023 Organizer Lab project in Tanzania by identifying Shared goals, understanding the goals and objectives of both projects. We will be looking for commonalities or areas where these projects overlap and shared goals to provide a strong foundation for collaboration.
  • I had time to share with communities in Tanzania about the project through telegram, what sup groups. Also we had a physical meeting with partners such as Women in Technology and Foundation for Environmental Protection in Tanzania (FEPT) on how we can collaborate in implementing the project.
  • I have been using event registration tool in managing the Wikis project, and before applying it for newbies, We will be having a training on how to use the tool in managing their registration.
