ADDENDUM: September 26th, 2019
editTwo more events were implemented on September 2019.
- v. Wikipedia Editing Workshop (September, 20th);
- vi. III Editathon (September, 21st).
Events v. and vi. had to be posponed to September 2019 as tourism students, guides and professors of the Eleazar Guzman Barron Institute In Huaraz were on holidays during July and August, as these months are considered high tourism season for them. The Wikipedia in Spanish page for the event is here. The results of these events are.
Goal 1.- Recruit and increase skills of new editors for the Spanish Wikipedia
- 7 new editors were recruited for the Spanish Wikipedia on the events of September 2019, 3 other participated in the Editing Workshop the day before. Adding them to the 9 new editors on July 2019, this year we had in total 16 new editors (the target was 20 new editors).
Goal 2.- Add or improve content in articles about the Andes in the city of Huaraz, Peru
- 17 new articles were created for the Spanish Wikipedia:

- 1 article was improved for the Spanish Wikipedia:

- 1 new image was provided for the following articles:

- Adding them to the 37 new articles created on July and August 2019, this year we had in total 54 new articles (the target was 30 new or improved articles) and 10 improved articles.
Goal 3.- Promote the participation of academics into creating and improving articles in Wikimedia projects
- Of the 7 new editors of the III Editathon on September 21st, 2019, 5 were academics from the institute. They participated creating 7 of the 17 new articles and enjoyed the experience. One of them improved an existing articles. The experience contributed to understand what is Wikipedia about and deconstruct prejudices against its use.
