Hello Icem4k, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant request. We are glad that the Zambian Wikimedia community is joining the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos contest. I have reviewed your proposal and have the following questions and comments:

  • Could you please confirm on the proposal page that no offline (in-person) activities will be organized in terms of this grant?
  • How will you use the Outreach Dashboard to track the number of added images to the Wikimedia projects and determine winners?
  • Does the "Internet subscription" expense also include internet costs for participants or this will only cover the internet costs of the organizers?

Looking forward to your response! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 05:39, 19 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi @DSaroyan (WMF),

  1. I will make the change that this is an online activity and no in person meet-ups.
  2. Me and the team will manually look and review all the edits through the dashboard of all the participants and we will mostly be interested in our local language (Chichewa Wiki) because we want that wiki to grow as well.
  3. The Internet subscription is just for the organisers only. We can't get for everyone besides those people will be in there homes or works of place when this webinar will take place. So its only for the organising team.

Hello Icem4k, thanks for responding to my questions and making the requested changes. As mentioned by T Cells on the discussion page of the WPWP in Camroon request, you do not need to manually track and count the edits from the Outreach Dashboard. All you need is to include #WPWP and #WPWPCM hashtags in the edit summary, and the results will be generated for your participants automatically. Please consider using these hashtags to monitor the edits. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 04:50, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi @DSaroyan (WMF) Oh yes thank you very much for bring that up as a matter of fact those entries are more on the international part but at the local level i wish to use and to use the Outreach Dashboard cause that way i it will restrict to local and please do keep in mind I also want to grow my community if they don't win at international they can try at local and the prizes I just want them to be for the participants from Zambia. That is the main use of the Outreach Dashboard I hope that has been clarified .--Isaac Kanguya✌ (talk) 10:43, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
DSaroyan (WMF), the general hashtag is the #WPWP. The #WPWPCM is specifically for the Cameroon community to track metrics from Cameroonian participants. If the Zambian Community plans to use the outreach dashboard to track metrics from Zambia, that's fine. Icem4k while you track metrics from your community with the outreach dashboard, please inform participants from your community to add the hashtag #WPWP to edit summary of all articles improved with photos. Thank you. T CellsTalk 14:44, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@T Cells defiantly that is why we will be able to distinguish the edits. -Isaac Kanguya✌ (talk) 21:58, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Adjustment of the dates

edit

Hi I would like to request that I make adjustmenta to the end date from 31, August to 31 September this due to the fact that a number of members from my community complaining that they where unable to follow along during the webinars we had and so I made a number of instructional videos which they have found handy.
