Recruitments of new editors

edit

Hi,

You say that one of the goals is "Recruitments of new editors", but in the Impact section there are no metrics to check how many people will keep contributing after this event.

Is it possible to add such a metric? --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 16:09, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the inputs Amir E. Aharoni. I already include your suggestion in the proposal. Please feel free to suggest for improvement of this proposed initiative. --MarvinBikolano (talk) 05:58, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Can you please define what exactly is "new editors"—how many edits are they supposed to perform, and after how much time are you going to measure this? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 18:06, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Amir E. Aharoni. I have already updated my proposal and made some changes. Thanks! --MarvinBikolano (talk) 03:08, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia training

edit

Another question: The proposal says that its goals are to To improve the quality, reliability, and credibility of Wikipedia articles across Philippine languages and "Recruitments of new editors".

Who will provide the Wikipedia training? I see that User:MarvinBikolano is quite experienced with Commons, with is relevant for goal "To promote the use of digital media files", but has much fewer edits on Wikipedia in Bikol in English, and very few edits in other languages (see Special:CentralAuth/MarvinBikolano). Will there be other people who are experienced with Wikipedia? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 09:45, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Amir E. Aharoni. I, together with my team will collaborate with the experienced local Wikimedians to share their expertise in basic and technical editing. I already oriented my team and projected new editors regarding Wikimedia. Filipinayzd also shares his interest as a volunteer to train new editors. Request for an extension of the WPWP in the Philippines 2021

edit

Hi to all,

I am glad to inform you of the success in organizing the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos in the Philippines 2021. I, together with my team, have achieved our goals and we are happy with the outcome of the project. Our project report is on draft and ready for submission anytime.

Last October 22, 2021, Bhuvana Meenakshi (part of the WPWP Campaign 2021 International jury) sent me an email seeking help by recruiting volunteer editors to review the quality of the hashtagged edits of the projects. I extend my intention to offer my service to the international organizer in this matter. But due to the limited time and resources that we have, I am respectfully seeking approval to the Foundation (Grants Admin) for an extension of the project for 1 month (November 15-December 15, 2021) and use the remaining funds of the WPWPPH 2021 to respond to the request of the WPWP Campaign 2021 international jury.

Thank you, and stay safe to all. --MarvinBikolano (talk) 07:04, 3 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Marvin,How are you? Hope you are keeping well and thank you for reaching out. Yes sure, we are able to extend the report submission timeline to 15 December 2021. About the remaining funds, could you provide more details about the amount and your preliminary plans on re-allocation? On a side note, I've joined the Wikimedia Foundation for 2.5 months now and am working on meeting Wikimedians in the ESEAP region. Would you like to also take the opportunity to connect (have also sent you an email)? Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you.--JChen (WMF) (talk) 02:25, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
