- Thank you for sharing with us your project outlines. We’re excited about the thoughtful planning of your event.
- In Table 2 of your project budget, the total sum is incorrect. It should be 208,000 NGN (682.13 USD) instead of 248,000 NGN (681.97 USD). Please fix this discrepancy and correct your budget.
- Apologies for the typo! We have recalculated the figure. instead of 208,000 NGN (682.13 USD) from above, our final figure is 208,000NGN (681.96 USD).
- You mentioned that three experience Wikimedians from your community will be supporting throughout the events. Would you please provide their usernames?

editHello Wikimedia Nigeria, thanks for clarifying! I am approving this request too; the new end date for your grant is October 1, 2020 with the report due date on November 1, 2020. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 12:50, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
Request for another extention
editHi, @DSaroyan (WMF):,Contrary to our original plan, we might need to request for additional time to execute this grant. ELOY and 2 Nigerian Universities are the proposed partners for the project. We have completed the part involving ELOY, while the ongoing strike between the Academic Staff Union of University ( ASUU ) and the Federal Government in Nigeria has impaired negatively on the project ( You can read more ). Regrettably, we are requesting for additional two months to allow the parties ( ASUU and FG) to resolve their issues and also allows the students to settle at their schools after the long-term holiday before event.
Also, since the government has opened up the country for more activities, we will like to have in-person training. See the risk assessment here
Please, lets us know what you think? Wikimedia Nigeria (talk) 16:59, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Wikimedia Nigeria, thanks for reaching out to us.
- For the grant end date extension, does December 1, 2020 work as a new date for your project?
- Yes, it's fine. We will continue to review the ongoing situation and availability of the institution oncethe strike is call-off.
- I reviewed the risk assessment document you shared and confirm that this in-person gathering is allowed in terms of our guidelines. You can now organize the intended in-person gathering. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:30, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for the approval of the in-person training and your consideration of our request to extend the grantdue to the prevailing circumstance. Wikimedia Nigeria (talk) 04:20, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Wikimedia Nigeria, to confirm, the new grant end date is December 1, 2020, with the reporting due date on January 1, 2021. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:42, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hello DSaroyan (WMF), according to the report gathered here, the protracted strike between the Academic Staff Union of University in Nigeria ( ASUU) and the Federal Government (FG) of Nigeria was suspended in December 2020. Therefore, the various institutions will resume in January 2021 after nine(9) months of compulsory vacation. We plan to propose the continuation of the program during the next semester of the affected institutions. This approach will allow the institution to focus on its academic activities. We, therefore, request for another three (3) months for this project. We estimated a semester to cover 3 months period. Wikimedia Nigeria (talk) 09:49, 6 January 2021 (UTC).
- Hello Wikimedia Nigeria, I'm glad to learn that you are able to continue your project. Could you please specify an end date for your project? Do you mean extending it for three months from now, or from October 1? Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:30, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yes,DSaroyan (WMF), In our estimate, it takes a period of 3 three months to complete a semester. So, we plan to revisit the project at the end of this semester. Therefore, the estimated end date will be the end of March 2021Wikimedia Nigeria (talk) 17:39, 13 January 2021 (UTC).
