The Project Grant committee's formal review for Round 1 2020 will occur March 17 - April 8, 2020. We ask that you refrain from making changes to your proposal during the committee review period, so we can be sure that all committee members are seeing the same version of the proposal.

Grantees will be announced Friday, May 15, 2020.

Goals and evaluation

Dear team,

Thank you for your work on this project grant proposal! My name is Melissa Guadalupe Huertas and I'm part of the Education team at the WMF. I think this project proposal would benefit from some fine-tuning around your goals and ways of measuring your impact. For example, in the "Project goals" section you mention you want to "Add or improve content" - could you be a bit more specific about the type of content you will be working on, maybe the language you will be focused on, or any other details that can provide a better picture of your project's focus? I also found it a bit difficult to connect the project goals you are stating there with the information on your "Project impact" section as this section seems to contain a different (though related) set of goals on its own. I think it's important to make sure the connection is more clearly stated. For example, if one of your project goals is to "Improve the digital skills of the students participating in the workshops through the use of Wikipedia" a way to know if you have achieved this goal could be to determine if at the end of the workshops the students can independently perform a set of tasks (edit their user page, create hyperlinks in an article, include a citation, etc) that they didn't know how to do before.
