MGuadalupe (WMF)
About me
I was born in the northern coast of Peru but my family comes from the Andes and Rainforest regions. I strongly believe that education is the key to building a just and peaceful society for all. My career has developed at the intersection of education and international development and this sparked in me a passion for learning and innovation. I’ve managed diverse education projects in urban and rural environments in Peru, Panama, and Ecuador that promoted community building and service learning opportunities. I have a wide experience working with international volunteers, and I’m passionate about fostering cross-cultural understanding and collaboration. I’ve participated in leadership development programs in the USA and Japan that expanded my worldview and taught me the power of cultivating strong multicultural friendships. I’m very excited and honored to be part of the WMF to work towards achieving education equity and to support education initiatives in the Global South. I hold a BA in Languages Education (UCV – Peru) and an MA in Education, Gender and International Development (University College London). In my free time you can find me reading outdoors, taking photographs, or planning a new trip!
My work
I support the Education team by developing resources and strategies that help integrate the Wikimedia projects into classroom learning, with a particular focus on emerging communities.
