AGENDA / TOPICS
edit- Please review our Roadmap Ideas and http://minutes.iiab.io to help us with the IIAB 7.1 Milestone !
- Stepping Up our Contributor Community Platforms: #1759
- Document modernization, starting with http://FAQ.IIAB.IO possibly moving to http://meta.wikimedia.org ?
- (Or is the idea of moving IIAB docs from wiki.laptop.org to meta.wikimedia.org a bad one, given proprietary content and proprietary content practices are a fact of life in low-income countries, among communities that cannot possibly abide by all Wikimedia policies, as those living in poverty inherently have far fewer choices...)
- https://github.com/iiab/iiab/wiki is fine for quickie docs, but not a mature collaborative platform for tech writers/professionals who value their time
- Shared Google Doc ?
- Some excellent/similar suggestions within #1759 !

- Permit VNC screensharing out-of-the-box? #318
- Document modernization, starting with http://FAQ.IIAB.IO possibly moving to http://meta.wikimedia.org ?
- Side Topic: Kids on Computers December 2nd - 6th Mexico Trip, with a focus on refining client machines' OS (Raspbian With Desktop) to enable schools to become more independent. Thanks to the ongoing very hard work of Victor Chan Timmons (Kocifier, PR #20)
- Anyone who can talk for 5 minutes about their recent activities should
- We will do either or both recording or note taking to publish and share
- Remember: we only have records of progress with documentation
- Old documentation review
- Check our list of deployments
- Cleanup the development history
- Present an overview of our sectors of engagement:
- Content development
- Kiwix
- Software integregation
- Hardware development
- Device deployment
- Communication
- Partnerships
- Revival of en:user:WP 1.0 bot
- Curation of a smaller stable subset of Wikipedia
- Ready for offline use / distribution on CDs
- Integration of text/video chat service. As IIAB is increasingly used in Community Networks around the world, a service that offers secure offline communications (with possible federation) would be invaluable for local communities with expensive, unreliable or unavailable internet. Possible services:
- https://rocket.chat/docs/administrator-guides/federation/ integrating those intermittently disconnected?
- https://nextcloud.com/talk/ (possible to use this add-on with current NextCloud install?)
- Other potential services to add to IIAB:
- HomeAssistant (https://www.home-assistant.io/hassio/)
- Unifi Controller (https://lazyadmin.nl/home-network/installing-unifi-controller-on-a-raspberry-pi-in-5-min/)
- PiHole (https://pi-hole.net/)
- Add <YR ITEM HERE> and to the GitHub Milestone above!
